My Biography

I hold a Bachelor's degree in education, a Master's degree in English and a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in reading.

I have worked as a teacher for twenty-one years and as a college instructor for thirteen years.  My first experience as a teacher was in Illinois where I worked for seven years in a middle school setting.  I obtained a job as an adjunct instructor at Joliet Junior College and worked under Dr. Asher for three years.  Summers I spent in Arkansas where I worked as an instructor at a campus.  After getting married, I moved to Kentucky where I taught an additional fourteen years in the high school and middle school campuses.  While there I taught at the local community college for ten years.  I helped my own two daughters with reading, writing and grammar all the way through school and through college.  Now I am excited to be at James Madison Preparatory School where I have worked with some wonderful students.  My office hours are referenced above and all of the students that have been assigned to me know my office hours.  However, I am willing to assist students at other times if an appointment is made.  My plan period is from 9:20 - 10:10, if you would like to talk about your child's progress or if you would like to set up additional time for tutoring.  I look forward to having a wonderful school year.
