Hello, my name is Jamie Teran. I am fortunate to have been a part of this community for over ten years now, first as a student, and then as a volunteer after graduating in 2017. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Geography (Meteorology – Climatology). Weather is governed by physical processes and defined by complex mathematical relationships that rely on knowledge of calculus, differential equations, and statistics. I look forward to guiding students through their mathematical studies, and occasionally sharing how the math that they are studying now can apply to different fields and aspects of daily life. In my spare time, I enjoy ham radio, photography, woodworking and set construction for JMPS theater productions, drone mapping, and keeping an eye on the weather.
